WOMEX Creative New Zealand, in association with NZMC, is supporting a presence at the World Music Expo in Seville, Spain in 2008. New Zealand will have a trade fair booth which will promote New Zealand world music with an emphasis on M_ori and Pasifika music. Sampler We are producing a sampler CD of ten professional New Zealand musicians or music groups who have toured nationally and, preferably, have international experience. The music should be appropriate for a world music market and have a distinctive New Zealand sound. Dates A call for expressions of interest opens on Friday, 4 July 2008 and closes on Monday, 4 August 2008. A final decision on the ten selected musicians/groups will be made by 28 August 2008. WOMEX 2008 runs from 29 October to 2 November 2008. Acknowledging the best in country music and the new direction it is taking. Kiwi Pro-Am Country Music Org. is proud to present these Awards for the third year in Hamilton, New Zealand. This year Kiwi Pro-Am continues to build on previous year’s success and will continue to showcase the talents of many more established and rising country stars. This event will present some of this country’s best young performers supported by artists New Zealand have long appreciated. Four new faces are backed by established acts in a memorable concert at the Founders Theatre. New artists include, Ashley Cooper, Nadine Newman-Dempster, Neil Mckenzie-Hall and Phil Doublet who join well-known performer Aaron Jury (current new horizon award winner). This year we are joined by Jasmine Rae the current Telstra Road to Tamworth Winner from Australia and who has performed at the CMA Global Artist Party in Nashville on June 2 2008. Joining these artists are four legends of country music; Celine Toner who has established herself well and truly in the world of Entertainment, both as a producer and entertainer of her various them shows including her SHANIA TWAIN and BLUES ROCK Shows. Roger Tibbs singer, songwriter from Upper Hutt and Kevin Greaves who has returned home after performing in Nashville for fourteen years. Ethical will be performing songs off his recently released "Ages Turn" album which features collaborations with the likes of Brad Marquis and M1 of Dead Prez. His latest videos "On My Throne" and "Head on My Shoulders" have been picking up some heavy rotation of television.
